Actor, writer and aviator Len Anderson is an accomplished pilot with over 3000 hours flying military jet aircraft, and holds an airline transport license. He is also a certified charter boat captain, and in his spare time enjoys fly-fishing, golf, and gaming. He spent over 14 years as a Marine Officer before returning to his career in entertainment.
Born in San Diego, CA and raised in Duluth, MN, Len was acting at a young age, to include his first commercial experience. Before leaving to earn his degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Len achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and still holds his high school record in pole vault at 13 feet 4 inches.
During his time in the Marines, Len accumulated 262 landings on aircraft carriers, and conducted numerous missions in Iraq. He also attended the famed school “Top Gun” and was the Weapons and Tactics Instructor for all East Coast Marine F-18 squadrons before being selected to join the Navy Flight Demonstration Team, the Blue Angels.
Len spent his first year on the team as the “host” of the Blue Angels, narrating for the air shows in front of a live audience, totaling over 9 million people, during the 2002 show season. He followed on as a solo pilot for two years taking the F-18 through its paces experiencing upwards of 8 G’s during maneuvers in 2003 and 2004.
Len has been the focus of hundreds of interviews on both camera and print, to include a variety of guest appearances on television. Now showing on Discovery Channel HD Theater, Len’s time as a Blue Angel is documented in “Blue Angels – A Year in the Life.”
While pursuing his career in Hollywood, Len splits his time between his home in Pensacola, Florida and a couch in Santa Monica.
